Release Notes 12.10.2002
We're getting back to the basics with 7.1. This release combines new features with our continued commitment to ease-of-use.
What's New
- Buy me ezSupporter
Just in time for the Holidays! Giving the gift of ezSupporter has never been easier. Simply click on the “Buy me ezSupporter” icon in a public profile. Follow the payment instructions as usual. All major Credit Cards are accepted.
- ezPost Formatting Interface
We’ve completely redesigned our posting interface to make code formatting easier than ever. Instead of typing the code yourself, ezPost does it for you with just the click of your mouse. The interface automatically appears on all communities that allow ezcodes and/or HTML in posts. more »
- Smarter Emoticons
Now you can choose to show your community’s emoticons directly in the posting interface. Simply select as Favorite the emoticons you want displayed. All non-favorites will be accessible by your users through a pop-up. more »
- Custom Signature formatting tool
This handy posting pop-up enables you to format your Custom Signature effortlessly. No coding knowledge required. All users have access to the ezcode tool and ezSupporters have the added benefit of an HTML tool. more »
Brand-New Viewing and Posting Restriction Functionality:
- Daily Maximums
You asked and we listened. This powerful new tool available to all communities gives the admin a higher level of control over viewing and posting on their community. We now allow you to control and set both viewing and posting limits based on Membership (User) Levels. Use viewing and posting limits to stop spam, keep out unwanted users, reward loyal members, and control Gold Community costs. ezSupporters are exempt from viewing limits. more »
- Who Can Post & Who Can View
We've divided the Membership Requirements section of Security Settings into two interdependent areas for more intuitive administration. You can now create both viewing restrictions and membership (posting) requirements for your community. more »
Down The Road
In 7.0 we said you could expect the ezPost interface and admin viewing and posting controls. In 7.1 we deliver those promises. We’re still working diligently on more features and bug fixes. Here’s what we’re working on for early next year:
- An Inbox feature to replace the current Private Messaging system will add basic web-based messaging functionality to the network.
- New XHTML and CSS layout Framework for communities will complete our full conversion to web-standards as well as offer the MOST CUSTOMIZEABLE community product available.
- Forum Access by user level – giving the Admin ultimate control over who has access to their community.
- Tons of mini features you’ve been requesting such as: copy topic, shadow move topic, category drop-down menus, and a select all users option in Member Management.
