ezboard 6.6
Release Notes 02.13.2002
1 MILLION ezboard communities have now been created on the ezboard network! What started on a laptop and modem line has now grown to be the largest independent hosted community provider in the world. This is possible because we were able to create a technology that was scalable, fast, and inexpensive. Our unique technology, along with your support through our CSC programs, have allowed us to survive when the dot-com bubble burst.
The ezboard 6.6 release is yet another extension of our architecture
Many of the changes are behind the scenes, but offer important benefits for our communities and users:
- the ability to move communities between servers instantly and easily
- more efficient utilization of our existing network, which will essentially add 50% more server capacity (more servers coming very soon)
- one ez URL to remember (go.ezboard.com - coming soon)
- load balancing and redundancy - if a server is slow or goes down, your board will be moved to a faster or backup server (manually now, automatically - coming soon)
- centralization of all data which will make some features possible that were not possible before (mark topic read, user personal inbox, etc.)
Thank you for your support and patience during these times. The majority of our architecture changes are now done and we'll soon see some of the benefits mentioned above.
Additionally in this release
- Numerous security bugs fixes and significant enhancements to further secure your accounts and ezboard communities
- Back-end enhancements for Customer Service to improve our ability to respond to ezSupporter issues
