I'm happy to announce the release of ezboard Version 6.8. You've told us that we need a better search function, a more responsive customer service system, and a better and faster way to communicate directly with board admins and mods. Version 6.8 delivers all of these - Forum Find, Support Client, and Smart Global Announcements - as well as a number of other enhancements.
If ezboard were a house, we spent most of the last year boarding up the windows and securing the foundation to make sure we could survive the dot.com blowout. This storm laid waste to many Internet companies, including many of our competitors. Now that the storm has passed, we are opening the doors and windows and picking up the pieces. This means new feature development, improved ease of use, and building more technologies that enable YOU to connect with people.
We are certain that you are going to love some of the things we will be launching in 6.9 and 7.0. Our new Community Center area is a great place to find out more. We hope to see you there!

Forum Find
Our new keyword search feature will help you find any ezboard that matches your interests quickly and exactly. For Admins, Forum Find adds keyword search capability to our current category search, making it that much easier for users to find your board. This robust keyword search engine allows you to sort results by average visits and posts, and total visits and posts. Remember that Gold Community boards always have top search engine placement with Forum Find. You can also access Forum Find from www.forumfind.com, and we will be promoting the site to attract more users and traffic to your communities. Community Center
This CSC members and contributors-only ezboard is a communication and sharing tool. You'll be able to get news and information about new features, upcoming releases, and what's going on inside the brain of ezboard. This is also the place to voice your opinions to the ezboard staff and interact with your fellow ezboard supporters. All users with CSC icons as well as anyone who's ever made a named CSC donation are welcomed at the Community Center. Please visit and enjoy.
Theme Trading
Looking for a fresh new look for your board? Now Gold Community boards can import and export personalized themes. Import the theme of your favorite board or share your own theme with a fellow ezboard user. The best place to get more information or to trade themes in our Theme Trading forum at the new Community Center. For help using this feature click here.
Support Enhancements
Smart Global Announcement
This feature is our newest, speediest and simplest mode for ezboard to communicate with our Administrators and Moderators. With Smart Global Announcement we can put up news and information to all administrators and moderators, but leave the decision to Show All Users or Delete the information in the hands of the Admin. Moderators will also see the announcement, but only Administrators can change the status. For more info click here
Support Client
We recently implemented a new email client for our customer support emails. When you submit a form you will now receive an email letting you know that we have received your request and supply you with a ticket number to track your issue. All replies from the customer and from the helpdesk representative are displayed. The new system is faster and more accurate than the old and also includes a Knowledge Base for the ezboard customer to explore for helpful information.
Security Enhancements
Security by Password
We have added new password fields in several places to ensure greater security for certain Control Center functions. You will find the new fields in these places: password change, email change, delete forum, delete log, assign user levels.
Bug Fixes
The following bugs are now fixed:
- (Secret Question/Answer link could be used over and over)
- (Certain CSC accounts retained the Get ezSupporter button)
- (Caching system for unregistered users)
Service Enhancements
Metareward program
Just over a month ago, we introduced the ezboard Metareward program, giving our users a new and innovative way to make a community chest donation or get a ezSupporter account without making any payment to us. We've been working hard to improve the program, speed up the validation process and include more offers in every category. Take a closer look at the updated Metareward program -- who knows, maybe there's something there you've been thinking about trying, except this time you'll be getting something back in return!
HyperMatch Beta
The world's smartest people matcher just got better. We've added a new photo upload capability so you're now able to put a face to your profile. You're now also able to sort your hypermatch results by score, age, distance, number of answers, and sex (for friendship matches). And finally, you can search for matches without being logged in to your ezboard account and performing a hypermatch. You can find this new browse feature here: http://www.hypermatch.com/browse
