Posting

Topics, threads, posts, messages, replies... whatever you happen to call them; they're the content created by you that is the heart and soul of every online community. What you will find below is a brief tutorial on posting new topics, replying, editing, and deleting (mod /admin only). We’ll also make you aware of any restrictions an admin may place on posting in his/her community.

Key Information

• The ezPost Formatting interface makes formatting your posts very intuitive.
• Editing, deleting and moving topics are admin and/or moderator functions, depending on the community.
• The admin can allow replies on a per forum basis, i.e. if it is an announcement forum you may not be able to reply.
• Admins can also require registration or a password to post at their board.

How to reply or add a post

1. To post a reply to a message click the Add Reply button (may vary depending on the community).
2. Once you have clicked the Add Reply button it will take you to a page where you can enter your message and subject title. You can choose to preview your reply by checking the preview box next to the Add Reply button.

How to edit a post

You must be logged in to see this option. Only the original author, administrator or moderator can edit a post on a community. (This option will vary depending on the community)

1. To edit a message, click on the Edit link or image (usually a checkmark).
2. Once you have clicked the Edit link it will take you to a page where you can edit the message. You can choose to preview your reply by checking the preview box next to the Edit Message button.

How to post a new topic

1. To post a new topic, click on the New Topic button (may vary depending on the community).
2. Once you have clicked the New Topic button it will take you to a page where you enter your message and subject title. When you are finished, you can choose to preview your topic by checking the preview box next to the Add Post button.

How to delete a topic or post

You must be logged in to see this option. Only the administrator and the moderators of a community can delete a topic or post.

If you wish to delete just one post, choose the Del link or image (usually an X) under or to the side of the one particular post you wish to delete. Once you have clicked the Del link or image, you will be taken to a page where you must confirm that you wish to delete that post. Click the Yes button if this is what you wish to do or click the No button to abort the deletion.

1. To delete the entire topic and all of its replies, click the Del All link or image (usually an X) or click on the icon labeled Topic Commands at the bottom of the topic.
2. Once you have clicked the Del All link it will take you to a page where you must confirm that you wish to delete the ENTIRE topic. Click the Yes button if this is what you wish to do or click the No button to abort the deletion.
