Topic Commands

Inside each topic, as an admin or moderator, you have a basic set of topic commands to work with: close/reopen, delete, or move. Gold Communities also add new topic commands: stick/unstick topic, feature topic (if the community profile feature is turned on), copy topic, and shadow move topic. You can also close, move and delete topics in bulk.

Key Information

• Moderators and Administrators must be logged into their accounts to see the Topic Commands link.
• You can find the link to the Topic Commands inside the topic at the bottom of the page.

How to Close a topic

1. Click on the Topic you wish to close and scroll to the bottom of this page.
2. Click on the icon labeled Topic Commands.
3. Once you click the Topic Commands icon, it will take you to a new page where you can move the topic. Click in the Close topic radio box.
4. Once you are done, click on the Submit button.

Note: A closed topic will remain visible to all of the users. It will only prevent users from replying to this particular topic.

How to Move a topic

1. Click on the Topic you wish to close and scroll to the bottom of this page.
2. Click on the icon labeled Topic Commands.
3. Once you click the Topic Commands icon, it will take you to a new page where you can move the topic.
4. Click in the Move topic radio box and then choose the forum within the drop down menu that you would like to move the topic to.
5. Once you are done, click on the Submit button.

How to Delete a topic

1. Click on the Topic you wish to close and scroll to the bottom of this page.
2. Click on the icon labeled Topic Commands.
3. Click in the Delete topic radio box.
4. Once you are done, click on the Submit button.

Note: Once a topic is deleted, it cannot be restored.
