Show Poster IP Addresses

This feature allows administrators of a community to view the IP address of your posters. This can provide added security for your community. If activated, this feature will show the IP address below the name of the user next to each post.

Key Information

• IP stands for Internet Protocol. Every time you access the Internet you are coming from an IP address. It helps to identify where you are coming from.
• Only administrators can see the IP address listed under the posters name.
• Uses for seeing IP addresses include banning a user or identifying the user under a different name.
• Many users have ISPs (Internet Service Providers) that use several IP addresses sometimes in the same session. Also, users with the same ISP can have the same IP address.
• You can view the IP address of your posters by enabling ezboard's Show Poster IP feature. If you activate this feature, it will show the IP address of all of the users that have posted at your community to the admins of your community only.

How to show IP addresses on your community

1. Log in to your Control Center and click the My Community tab.
2. Manage the correct community.
3. Click the Security Settings button.
4. Under the heading Poster IP place a check next to Show Poster IP.
5. Click on the Save Changes button.
