Shadow Move Topic 
The Shadow Topic feature will leave a “Shadow” of a moved topic in the forum where it was originally posted. The Shadow topic will redirect users to the moved topic when they click it. This is a Gold Community feature only.
Key Information
- You can shadow move a topic using Topic Commands or Bulk Topic Commands.
- Shadow topics count towards a forum’s total topic limit (e.g. A forum is limited to 500 topics… it can have 250 topics and 250 shadow topics or any combination thereof).
- The topic will retain all special features once it is moved (e.g. sticky, hot, featured).
- You can shadow multiple times. You will be redirected to the last forum it was moved to when you click on the Shadow topic. The content in the original shadow topic will reflect the most recent replies.

How to shadow move a topic using Topic Commands
- Click on the topic you’d like to move and then click on the Topic Commands link.
- Select the Move radio button and check the box next to Leave a Shadow Topic.
- Select your forum from the dropdown menu and click Submit.

- Select a topic from the topics listing page.
- Select Move from the bulk topic drop down menu and click Do It.
- On the Confirm Topic Move screen select a forum, check the box next to Leave Shadow in current forum, and click Continue.
How to use Bulk Topic Commands to shadow move multiple topics into a forum
- Go to your topic listing page.
- Check multiple topics on the topic listing page.
- Select Move from the bulk topic drop down menu and click Do it.
- On the Confirm Topic Move screen select the forum to move the topics to and click Continue.
How to delete a shadow topic
- Go to the topic listings page and check the box next to the shadow topic you wish to delete.
- Select Delete from the bulk topic drop down menu and click Do It.
- Click on the Continue button on the next page.
