Profanity Filter

The profanity filter is an effective way to eliminate offensive language from your community discussion. It is defaulted on and can only be turned off on Gold Communities. Both Gold and non-Gold Communities can add additional words to filter out of messages.

Key Information

• The filter is defaulted on and can only be turned off if on Gold Communities.
• Any words added to the custom profanity filter box will be filtered regardless of wether or not you have the Enable Profanity Filter box checked.

How to turn on/off the Profanity Filter as a Gold Community

1. Log in to your Control Center and click on the My Community tab.
2. Click on the Security Settings button.
3. Under the Profanity Filter header check or uncheck the box next to Enable Profanity Filter.
4. Click on the Save Changes button.

How to customize the Profanity Filter

1. Log in to your Control Center and click on the My Community tab.
2. Click on the Security Settings button.
3. 3. Scroll down to the Profanity Filter header.
4. Enter the words you would like to be filtered out on your community, separated by a comma, in the text box provided.
5. Click on the Save Changes button.
